Hemingway's death, misdiagnosed???
There are multiple people in the world who believe that Hemingway's death was something more then what people think it was. the widely accepted theory was that Hemingway killed himself with a shotgun, but was this really the case? There are people who go against this theory, But the true cause of his death is in fact unknown, whether it was an accident, a suicide, or a prevalent genetic killer that caused toxic levels of iron to flood the body, ultimately inciting depression and agony. Experts still debate the reasons behind Hemingway's pulling of the trigger (Olson 1). This disease is called Hemochromatosis, this causes excessive amounts of internal damage, causing extreme pain. Some people believe that Hemingway fell victim to this, and killed himself to relieve the pain. This means that Hemingway had no intention before becoming a victim to the pain, shooting himself. this would also mean that this disease is responsible for the death, not suicide. Another explanation for his death is that he was cleaning his double barreled shotgun when the weapon fired accidentally. However, I own a double barrel shotgun and I do not see how this is the case, in order to clean a double barrel shotgun, you must have the gun "Broke open", this means it is physically impossible to fire the weapon, even by accident. if Hemingway was cleaning the barrel without the gun broke open, there would be no shell in the gun, as he would not have been able to completely clean the barrel with a shell loaded. Hemingway was an avid shooter and outdoorsman, he would of had at least the common sense to know this. However, I do believe that the disease is what really killed him, he actually was diagnosed with this disease before his death. I believe that the disease caught up to him and the pain was too much for Hemingway to handle.
