A Clean, Well Lighted Place.
Another Story that I liked was A Clean, Well Lighted Place. I thought this story was particularly interesting because, even though Hemingway ststes that this story has no relationship with his own personal life, the story seems to match up perfectly. The story is about an old man who's in a bar. This old man is very depressed so he stays at this bar because he has no where else to go. at the time this was written, Hemingway was going through his own depression and drinking stag, and still he says that there is no influence of his personal life into this story, but this cant be just a coincidence. In the story, the workers at the bar end up having to tell the old man to leave because he just would leave without them saying anything. this relates to Hemmingway's own life because, he is stuck in this depression and he can not get out of it. I really like this story because of the fact that this story has so many obvious similarities with Hemmingway's life, but he still says that there is no influence from his life that went into the story itself. I find this very interesting.
